Blue Water Film Festival to Celebrate World Water Day in La Jolla
The Blue Water Film Festival aims to encourage attendees to think more broadly about how climate change affects our planet. It also promotes San Diego as a hub for environmental storytelling, science, and naval exploration.
Coinciding with World Water Day on March 22, the festival will feature long-form, short-film, narrative, and documentary independent films, as well as animated films, that showcase the environment in a unique way.
From Friday, March 22 through Sunday, March 24, there will be a plethora of different events, including:
- Film screenings
- Environmental storytelling panels
- Photography panels
- Q&A sessions with directors
- Live painting with local artists
- Filmmaker’s and media brunches
- An awards show
- And more!
“The festival is committed to exhibiting films that express fresh voices and differing global perspectives to enlighten audiences, educate, provide invaluable exposure for filmmakers, and present inspired entertainment for the sole purpose of the environment,” the organizers wrote of the event.
La Jolla, of course, is home to the world-renowned Scripps Institute of Oceanography and the Birch Aquarium, making it an ideal setting for an environmentally-focused ocean film festival.
