This San Diego Beach is One of The 25 Best in The USA

A San Diego area beach has just been voted one of the top 25 best beaches anywhere in the country by a national travel magazine.

Earlier in April, Travel + Leisure published a spotlight of 25 of America’s best beaches. Given that the U.S. has 95,471 miles of shoreline, making the cut is no small feat.

Options on the list range from Santa Monica Beach in California to East Coast shores, such as Coney Island Beach in Brooklyn, New York. However, the list also included San Diego’s own Coronado Beach.

“The constant warm, sunny weather is reason enough to visit San Diego,” Travel + Leisure wrote. “Coronado Beach, a 1.75-mile stretch of golden sand sparkling with bits of the mineral mica, is just the family-friendly icing on the cake.”

As you might expect, the magazine praised the fact that Coronado Beach attracts scores of “swimmers, surfers, and sunbathers.” It also added that the “gorgeous sunsets” also cause many visitors to stay until evening.

Travel + Leisure also highlighted other Coronado attractions, including the historic and glamorous Hotel Del Coronado. It also pointed out that North Beach, right next door, is one of the best dog-friendly beaches in San Diego.

For anyone that lives in San Diego, the fact that Coronado Beach made the a “best of” list isn’t a surprise. In fact, the more surprising fact is that only one San Diego beach made the cut.

San Diego has miles and miles of stunning coastline, including sandy beaches and beautiful seaside bluffs. Its beaches are also routinely voted as some of the best beaches on the West Coast.
