Discover an Ocean of Healing at Groundswell San Diego’s Event
If you’re a surfer (or ocean lover) looking to leverage the sea’s healing properties, then Groundswell San Diego has just the event for you.
Groundswell Community Project San Diego is an organization that provides science-backed surf therapy programs and trainings. On March 30, 2025, the group is hosting a free Waves of Connection event at Dog Beach in Ocean Beach.
The organizers invite to arrive and settle in with coffee, donuts, and community at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 30. From there, the event will feature a gentle grounding and intention-setting session guided by Groundswell San Diego therapists and facilitators. The event is slated to run from 10 a.m. through 1 p.m.
Once participants are grounded and rooted in an intention, the event will feature plenty of opportunities to move with the ocean — whether that means surfing, swimming, walking along the beach, or simply sitting and listening to the waves.
The event is an opportunity to get a free glimpse at Groundswell’s trauma-informed approach to healing through the ocean. Normal Groundswell San Diego training and curriculum might include practices such as somatic therapy, eco therapy, and professionally coached surf sessions.
Organizers advise participants that they might be filmed or photographed during the event for future Groundswell promotional purposes. If you don’t want to be included in these materials, let a team member know ahead of time.
