Lean Into Self-Love & Sisterhood with SUP Pups in San Diego

If you want to combine mindfulness, self-love, and the ocean, then San Diego-based SUP Pups has the perfect Valentine’s Day event for you.

On Sunday, Feb. 16, SUP Pups will be hosting a SUP’Er Women Self-Love & Sisterhood event at Liberty Station in Point Loma. The event is a combination of intention-setting, meditation, and stand-up paddle boarding — one of the most fun water-based activities you can do in San Diego.

The event will kick off with a grounding meditation themed around self-love, self-compassion, and self-acceptance. From there, attendees will be able to introduce themselves, break the ice, and set intentions for their practice.

After a quick paddle orientation, the SUP Pups event will finish up with a mindfulness paddle around the beautiful waters surrounding Liberty Station. Stand-up paddle boards are available for rent, but you can also bring your own.

The SUP Pups event is targeted toward anyone from beginner paddleboarders to experts SUPers. Even if you’ve never paddle-boarded before, the organizers say that beginners are more than welcome — and paddle-boarding while seated is totally OK.

As the name suggests, SUP Pups is a local wellness company focused on stand-up paddle boarding with dogs. Canine companions are welcome at the Sisterhood & Self-Love event, though it’s recommended that dogs should be comfortable with both paddleboards and the water.

The event kicks off with a meet-and-greet at 2 p.m., while intention-setting starts at 2:20 p.m. It’ll wrap up at 5:30 p.m. that evening.

Tickets to the event start at $20 if you bring your own board, and $40 if you rent one. If you’d like to bring your pup, there’s an additional $5 charge. All tickets include snacks, refreshments, and photos taken while on the water.
