Magical Cocktails Meet Mystical Vibes at The Seventh House in San Diego

The Seventh House, which is set to open soon in the hip North Park neighborhood of San Diego, will bring a mystical vibe to the speakeasy format.

Technically, this is not the first outpost that bore The Seventh House name in North Park. Previously, that name belonged to an astrology-themed brunch and coffee shop named after the ruling house of Libra. About five months, the owners decided to reimagine the experience.

Scheduled to open on Aug. 29, The Seventh House is a moody and opulent homage to a French Quarter psychic’s parlor. Much of the tarot-inspired decor of the former brunch spot remains, but the owners just made it a bit darker and more mysterious.

As you’d imagine, all the drinks at the speakeasy will have a mystical vibe. With cocktails featuring bubbling fog and other magical elements, you’ll feel like you’re drinking real-life potions brewed by an expert in the arcane arts.

The names of the cocktails at the Seventh House in San Diego are similarly mystical, and they include:

  • Scorpio Rising: Vodka, Light Rum, 151, Dark Rum, Pineapple, Orange, Lemon
  • Bitter Witch: A cocktail of Bourbon, Avema, Angostura Bitters and Chocolate Bitters
  • Amarre (Love Spell): Vodka, Cranberry, Orange Juice, Grapefruit Juice, Lime Juice, Sparkling Water, and Rosemary

The mysticism of The Seventh House doesn’t stop at the menu. Guests will also be able to get a real, personalized tarot reading in the San Diego speakeasy.

The Seventh House fits in perfectly with its North Park surroundings. Along with being named one of the most up-and-coming neighborhoods in the country, North Park also features a plethora of crystal shops, psychic parlors, and mystical vendors.

With a grand opening scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 29, The Seventh House is hidden away behind a restaurant dubbed Cacio e Pepe at 2835 University AVE. It will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight from Wednesday through Saturday easy week.
