SDSU Aztecs Football is Opening its 2026 Season This Weekend — Get Tickets Here
San Diego football fans rejoice: Aztecs Football officially opens its 2026 season this Saturday, Sept. 5 with a home game at Snapdragon Stadium.
The San Diego State football team will host the Portland State Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, opening their 2026 season with a non-conference home game.
Fans who arrive early to the home game will be able to attend the River Park Block Party, which starts at 2:30 p.m. and will feature live music, food and beverages, various giveaways, large screens showcasing other games, a Kids Zone, and more.
The 2026 season marks the start of San Diego State’s transition to the Pac-12 conference, with the first Pac-12 game scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 1 at Snapdragon. The Aztecs leaves the Mountain West conference with 106 league titles. According to SDSU, that’s the most in the history of the conference among the sports that the Aztecs compete in.
