The beautiful Hotel del Coronado is a luxury establishment on the island of its namesake in San Diego, but it will only get more amazing. The hotel has decided to invest $400 million in major renovations and expansions. Aiming at finishing the renovation in late 2022, there are five main components to what they are calling their Master Plan.

The first component of the expansion is a new entrance. They are restoring the main entrance and restoring the original front porch. A long landscaped driveway is being put in from the main street, Avenida Del Sol.

Next, the hotel is putting in an underground parking structure, which will also allow for a conference center to be built on top of it. The underground parking will have over a thousand spaces, allowing for even more guests and visitors to the hotel.

The new conference center is known as Southpoint Center. It is a modern event, meeting, and business conference venue with a 15,000 ft ballroom that can take the shape of ten different spaces. It will welcome businesses, events, and conferences from around the world.

Of course, there are also more rooms in the expansion. 142 new rooms are being added to the Hotel del Coronado including the Shore House, a residential building with its own guests.

Finally, the expansion even includes renovations to the surrounding streets. Both Avenida del Sol and Orange Avenue will have new sidewalks, gutters, lighting, and a signal to better direct traffic.

The establishment was already amazing, but it’s safe to say that the Hotel del Coronado will get even more incredible!
