If you were stuck in traffic longer than usual late Tuesday afternoon, it might have had something to do with the airplane that made an emergency landing on the freeway.
Because of where the plane landed, it hung over the center median, causing closures on both sides of the 5 freeway.
The airplane was a single-engine Piper PA-32, a type of plane used for private transportation and medevac flights.
Eventually, the plane was towed to Montgomery Field. The FAA will investigate the cause of the crash.
