Don’t Miss an Evening of Surf Stories & Music at UCSD in La Jolla

If you’re a surfer or are curious about the culture of the sport, you won’t want to miss an unforgettable evening of surf stories at UCSD in La Jolla.

On Friday, April 11, the La Jolla Historical Society and the UC San Diego Craft Center will be hosting an surf-inspired evening of board shaping, surfy music, and thrilling storytelling. The event is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

There will be expert surfboard shaping demonstrations by the Marko Wolfinger Surfboard Shaping Studio at UCSD, music by Peter Sprague, and a catered reception with light snacks and refreshments for guests.

Additionally, the surf stories event will also feature thrilling storytelling by professional surfers, such as Kaitlin Mikkelsen, Zeke Szekely, and JoJo Roper. Surf journalist Scott Bass will moderate the discussion.

This isn’t the first surf-related event hosted by the Historical Society, a top museum in La Jolla. Currently, the museum is also hosting a special exhibition all about the impact that surfing and surf culture has had on La Jolla.

The UCSD and La Jolla Historical Society event will also feature a board raffle, so you could be well on your way to creating your own special surf stories in La Jolla.
