Learn to Shape Your Own Surfboard at Surf Lounge in PB
If you’ve ever wanted to learn the craft of making your own surfboard, PB-based Surf Lounge has new spots open for its shaping classes.
Surf Lounge is a café and surf shop located in Pacific Beach, and it also hosts a number of different hands-on shaping lessons for aspiring surfboard-makers. According to the company’s Instagram, the shop now has weekend slots available for its shaping classes.
During a typical shaping class, you’ll learn the ins and outs of surfboard design while creating your very own custom board. The board can be tailored to your own style and performance needs as an expert shaper guides you through the process at Surf Lounge’s high-quality shaping bay.
A typical surfboard shaping class will involve two four-hour classes, which includes one-on-one instruction from an expert shaper in PB. You’ll leave after the second class with a fully shaped board — and an unforgettable experience.
Classes start at $700, and full packages that include a surfboard blank, glassing, and one-color, sanded finish start at $1,400.
If you’re already experienced in surfboard shaping, you can also rent the shaping bay at Surf Lounge in PB for $120. The cost includes the use of on-site tools, vacuums, and lights — and is available any time of day.
