Be Prepared to ‘Go Retro’ at the 2024 San Diego County Fair
The San Diego County Fair is back for 2024, bringing a new vintage-inspired theme, as well as the usual rides, food, and attractions that you’ve come to expect.
The fair opens in Del Mar this Wednesday, June 12 and will continue through Sunday, July 7. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily except for Mondays and Tuesdays, when the fairgrounds are closed.
This year, the San Diego County Fair theme is “Let’s Go Retro,” and the organizers are encouraging fair-goers to share photos that show off the trendiest styles and vibes from the 1950s through the 1990s.
Adult admission starts at $16 on Wednesdays and Thursdays, while admission on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and July 4 start at $20. Youth tickets are $13 on Wednesdays and Thursday and $17 on the weekends, while those 5 and under are free.
Parking is an additional cost, and runs from $20 or $15 if paid online. You can also take public transit to the San Diego County Fair 2024 through the North County Transit District and the Metropolitan Transit System.
There will also be plenty of special events at the 2024 San Diego County Fair, including a Gospel Day on June 29, an inaugural Native American Powwow on June 30, and a host of local artists and bands playing all through June and July.
Of course, there will also be all the delicious and delectable fair food that you know and love, including funnel cakes, sandwiches, sundaes, floats, hot dogs and sausage, french fries, and more.
