Here’s Where to See Fireworks in San Diego This 4th of July

There may not be fireworks in La Jolla this year, but there are still plenty of places to celebrate Independence Day in San Diego.

If you’re not aware, there won’t be a La Jolla Cove 4th of July fireworks show this year. Instead, the local community will be able to see a more environmentally friendly drone show near La Jolla Shores.

For those looking for traditional fireworks in San Diego, fear not. There will still be fireworks shows across America’s Finest City this year. Here are our top picks.

  • Big Bay Boom: The Big Bay Boom is San Diego’s most famous fireworks show, and it certainly lives up to its name. Expect a grand display launched from multiple barges in San Diego Bay. The show is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. on July 4.
  • SeaWorld Fireworks: If you want to see fireworks without competing for space on Independence Day, consider SeaWorld. The aquatic theme park will be hosting daily fireworks shows each night at 9 p.m. from Sunday, June 30 through July 4.
  • Oceanside Fireworks Show: North County residents don’t have to drive all the way to downtown to see fireworks. Oceanside is planning on hosting a fireworks show on Wednesday, July 3 at 9 p.m. at the SoCal Soccer Complex to celebrate both Independence Day and the city’s incorporation 136 years ago.
  • Chula Vista 4th Fest: If you want a side of food trucks and festivities with your fireworks, head on over to the 4th Fest in East County. This event, which is completely free to attend, will kick off at 7 p.m. on July 4 at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center. Fireworks will start at 9 p.m.
