This Upcoming Stylish Hideaway in Pacific Beach is an Ode to Surf Culture
A breezy new restaurant and lounge called Hideaway will soon land in Pacific Beach, bringing surfy vibes, shareable cocktails, and comfort classics to the hip neighborhood.
The new restaurant, which is located near the iconic Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach, sports a beach bungalow vibe that pays homage to California surfing culture. And, of course, it has a full menu of delicious food and drinks to boot.
On the menu, you’ll find a wide range of American classics for all-day and late-night dining. Expect options like wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, and chicken wings, as well as comfort foods like chicken pot pie and rigatoni with meatballs.
For beverages, there will be a full cocktail, wine, and beer bar with more than 30 beer taps. Hideaway Pacific Beach will also serve up “social bowls” of shareable cocktails, including a party keg filled with margarita and a flaming Volcano Bowl.
As you might expect from a beachy lounge, there will be plenty of places to hang out with friends, including fireside cubbies and outdoor dining. That means the restaurant will be a perfect fit to end a day of surf lessons in Pacific Beach.
The restaurant is the brainchild of Baja Sharkeez Restaurant Group, which also owns Tower12 in Hermosa Beach. A representative for the hospitality group told Eater San Diego that it plans to bring even more brands to the San Diego area, specifically in the hip and bustling Little Italy neighborhood.
In the meantime, there’s a Hideaway Pacific Beach grand opening party scheduled for Thursday, June 20. There will be live music and DJs, as well as other entertainment.
