Catch the Premiere of Peter King Film ‘Pipeline’ in San Diego
If you’re a surfer, you won’t want to miss the premiere of new Peter King documentary “Pipeline” at Bird’s Surf Shed in San Diego this July.
Directed by filmmaker Peter King and presented by A New Earth Project, “Pipeline” is a raw and immersive look at the famous Hawaii surf break of the same name. As a detailed portrait of surfing’s “most sacred wave,” it’s a must-see for any surfer in San Diego.
Bird’s Surf Shed in San Diego’s Morena neighborhood — located near Mission Bay and Mission Valley — is hosting an exclusive, one-night-only premiere of the film on Friday, July 11.
Shot entirely during the 2024/2025 winter season, “Pipeline: A Peter King Film” features everything from “historic barrels to unfiltered conversations with legends,” including everyone from Kelly Slater to John John Florence. Other surfers that make an appearance include Mason Ho, Jamie O’Brien, Tosh Tudor, Legend Chandler, and North Shore warriors like Moana Jones Wong, Zeke Lau, and Koa Rothman.
“This is not just a surf film,” the film description reads. “It’s a front-row seat to a season that will go down in history, told through the eyes of one of the North Shore’s most trusted storytellers.”
Tickets to the premiere run $20 and are available through this link. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. on July 11, and the showing will start at 7:30 p.m. Bird’s Surf Shed is located at 1091 West Morena Boulevard.
