Stretch Before Your Next Session at Sunday Surf Yoga in Carlsbad
Stretch, breathe and prepare your body for your best surf session yet at the Sunday Surf Yoga at Carlsbad State Beach.
Yoga has a variety of benefits for surfers, including increased strength, flexibility, and balance, as well as enhanced mental clarity and decreased injury prevention. So, it’s certainly worth a shot whether you’re a seasoned veteran or just learning to surf.
Sunday Surf Yoga, which is taking place from July 21 through Dec. 29, is a beautiful way to integrate a yoga practice into your surfing. Presented by Yoga Jawn and Carlsbad Village Athletic Clubs, the classes take place on the beautiful and picturesque Carlsbad State Beach each Sunday morning.
For flexibility, Yoga Jawn offers two class times: one at 9 a.m. and one at 10:30 a.m. The classes are taught by Yoga Jawn instructor Jacqueline Kowalik, who brings an inclusive and nurturing presence to the practice.
“Whether you seek to unwind, stretch, or simply reconnect with yourself in a peaceful setting, these sessions promise a rejuvenating experience for both body and mind,” the organizers wrote of the event.
Admission to the classes starts at $9.85, which is a great deal for yoga in San Diego generally — and especially so given the beautiful surroundings and the calming soundtrack of the waves crashing against the shore.
The classes take place at Warm Waters Beach near Tower 32, 4355 Carlsbad Boulevard, Carlsbad, CA 92008. The organizers ask that participants sign a waiver before attending Sunday Surf Yoga, which you can find here.
