The renowned Chicago steakhouse Steak 48 is opening up a San Diego location in Del Mar. Coming in 2023, this is the latest location joining their Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, and Charlotte restaurants.
The Del Mar location is 12,5000 square feet, with multiple dining areas and eight private suites. The glass-enclosed kitchen that can be seen from anywhere in the restaurant. In addition to the extensive and luxurious menu including 28-day wet-aged steaks and A5 Wagyu beef, the wine cellar stocks over 3,000 different wines.
Co-founded by father and sons from the Mastro family, Jeffrey, Michael, and their father Dennis opened up the first Steak 48 with their partner Scott Troilo after the family sold their successful eponymous restaurant chain Mastro’s in 2007.
Known for their strict dress code, Steak 48 offers more than just their famous steaks. Lobster tails, king crab, rock shrimp macaroni and cheese, and more, Steak 48 doesn’t just plan on bringing their luxurious restaurant to San Diego. They are also opening a location in Beverly Hills. Since selling their initial steakhouse chain, the Mastro family isn’t stopping anytime soon. They are elevating the luxury and style of their steakhouses, opening new locations and offering their delicious food and amazing service to people in California. Who knows where they will go next.
