Have a Taste of Summer at The Algae Swim ‘Not Just a Pop-Up’
For those looking to kick off the summer season a bit early, Algae Swim has a “not just a pop-up” event at Surf Lounge early next month.
Algae Swim is a locally headquartered swimwear brand that hand-makes all of its clothing in Bahia, Brazil. On Sunday, June 8, the company will host a beachy pop-up at Surf Lounge in Pacific Beach.
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., attendees can grab a coffee or drink as they peruse local brands, listen to live music, try out delicious food, and practice yoga in San Diego’s hippest beachside neighborhood.
The day will kick off with an invitation-only yoga class from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. noon. From noon through 4 p.m., you can check out the vendors, music, and food options.
As far as the tongue-in-cheek name, the Algae Swim “not just a pop-up” echoes the brand’s launch party, which was held back in March. The company says that its events aren’t just pop-ups — they’re celebrations of community and creativity.
If you can’t make it to the event at Surf Lounge, there will be an additional pop-up from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on June 14 at Keep Searching Surf Co. in Encinitas.
