Kids Free San Diego is Back: A List of No-Cost Activities for Your Children

The popular Kids Free San Diego program is back in October, allowing children under 12 free admission and discounts to some of the region’s top attractions.

From Oct. 1 through Oct. 31, children aged 12 and under can visit a plethora of different museums, aquariums, gardens, historic sites, and more throughout San Diego County — all for free. Many of them are also free for the entire family.

The Kids Free San Diego program applies to a range of different attractions, including the Comic-Con Museum in Balboa Park, the La Jolla Historical Society, and the U.S.S. Midway Museum near Seaport Village.

And, of course, it also applies to some of the most popular tourist spots in San Diego — such as SeaWorld, Legoland California, the San Diego Zoo, and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

“It’s a full month of family fun that doesn’t break the bank,” San Diego Museum Council Executive Director Bob Lehman said in a press release. “Whether you are a local or visiting San Diego, there is always something new to discover during Kids Free, including new exhibitions or historic sites, gardens, aquariums, state parks and other non-traditional ‘museum’ experiences people may not know about.”

Other top museums include:

  • Birch Aquarium at Scripps
