Make Your Own Mermaid Necklace With Mad Shells at Surf Lounge

This hour-and-a-half class is led by Madison Taylor of Mad Shells herself and will take place at Surf Lounge in Pacific Beach. From 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, you can expect to learn expert techniques to creating one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces from ocean materials.
During the event, guests will be able to use handpicked seashells and crystals to create stunning jewelry pieces. The organizers note that if you have a favorite seashell you’ve collected yourself from San Diego beaches, you can use that to make jewelry, too.
Along with learning jewelry making, participants will also learn about Madison’s mindful process for picking seashells. “Come for the creativity, stay for the ocean’s energy and leave with a lasting connection to both,” the organizers wrote of the event.
Each ticket to the event comes with a 14K gold-filled chain that is safe to wear — both in the shower and in the ocean. You can also enjoy complimentary hard kombucha from local brewery Juneshine while you make your unique jewelry piece.
If you’re unfamiliar with Surf Lounge, it’s a surf shop, board shaping business, and cafe in PB, so it’s one of the best places in San Diego to soak up that surfy, beachy vibe. Tickets start at $75, and include the class, gold necklace, complimentary kombucha, and no shortage of good vibes.
