Once Upon a Frame to Host Artist Paul Kauffman’s Latest Opening on April 18
Art gallery and frame shop Once Upon a Frame (OUAF) is set to host a captivating opening reception for Southern California fine artist Paul Kauffman on Saturday, April 18.
Located in Solana Beach’s Cedros Design District, Once Upon a Frame is an art gallery and custom framing shop known for hosting both eclectic and inspired art exhibitions. That trend continues with the opening reception for Paul Kauffman’s new exhibition, “In The Presence of Color.”
Scheduled for 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., the opening reception will feature light refreshments, live music, and an atmosphere where friends and family of all ages — including the four-legged variety — are welcome.
The opening will also feature a live painting demonstration from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Paul Kauffman is a Southern California-based fine artist whose work “explores the dynamic interplay between wild energy and serene grounding,” according to Once Upon a Frame.
“[Kauffman’s] formative years were uniquely shaped by contrasting experiences, studying for six years in a Catholic seminary and spending summers working with his family’s carnival, a duality that deeply influences his artistic vision as he seeks to balance the sacred and the profane,” a description of Kauffman’s work reads.
The exhibition will feature recent paintings from Kauffman that invite the viewer into a contemplative space deeply shaped by the artist’s journey navigating contrasting forces. The paintings will be on display at the gallery until May 2026.
Whether you’re an art enthusiast or simply looking for a dose of weekend inspiration, this reception offers a unique opportunity to engage with the restorative power of fine art and get a behind-the-scenes peek at how Kauffman harmonizes his expressive layers and layered compositions in real time.
The event is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are encouraged. To do so, you can email Once Upon a Frame at yael@onceuponaframe.com. For more information, visit the gallery’s website.
