Sunmerry Bakery San Diego Brings Delicious Treats to America’s Finest City

Sunmerry Bakery San Diego has arrived in Mira Mesa, bringing delicious Japanese and Taiwanese bread, pastries, and other desserts to the region.

The bakery company is a powerhouse in Taiwan, where it’s a household name. Sunmerry Bakery was officially founded in Japan before arriving in Taiwan in 1986, blending Japanese baking techniques with local Taiwanese flavors.

Now, Sunmerry Bakery has landed in San Diego with a storefront location in Mira Mesa, according to Eater. The new location is part of the company’s U.S. expansion, which kicked off in 2015. Beyond America’s Finest City, Sunmerry also operates bakeries elsewhere in California, as well as New Jersey.

As far as what you’ll find on the menu, Sunmerry Bakery San Diego has a wide selection of delicious baked goods, pastries, and treats — with both sweet and savory options available. Here’s just a small sampling:

  • Freshly baked brioche bread
  • Custard Danish
  • BBQ Pork Bolo (a type of bun)
  • Shredded Pork Puff Pastry
  • Ube Conchas
  • Mochi Donuts
  • Custom cakes
  • Almond & Shortbread Cookies
  • Pineapple Tarts
  • Caramel Pudding

Sunmerry Bakery San Diego is also a cafe location, so it offers a range of different beverages, too. That includes Thai iced tea, boba drinks, slated cream milk tea, matcha lattes, taro smoothies, and fresh strawberry milk.

The Mira Mesa location also won’t be the last Sunmerry Bakery to show up in San Diego — the company is also eyeing another storefront in Kearny Mesa for a potential opening in January 2024.

The bakery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 8110-8340 Mira Mesa Blvd San Diego. For a limited time, the location is also offering 10% off all purchases — giving you even more incentive to try out their delicious treats.
