Super Girl Surf Pro: The World’s Largest Free Surf & Music Festival
If you wanted to catch some waves, listen to good tunes, and soak up the coastal San Diego lifestyle, the Super Girl Surf Pro is the place to be this weekend.
The Super Girl Surf Pro is the largest female surf competition in the world. It’s a nationally televised event, but it happens to be completely free to attend if you’re local to San Diego or just visiting the area.
During the event, more than 140 of the world’s best professional surfers will compete, including some of the biggest names in the industry — such as Alyssa Spencer, Sawyer Lindblad, Moana Jones Wong, and Samantha Sibley.
Along with the world-class surfing, the event will also feature 15 free live concerts, including San Diego Brass & Electric, Lovelytheband, Beach Weather, Bishop Briggs, Emeline, and CeeLo Green.

- Panel discussions
- Beer garden and food court
- “Super Girl” e-sports tournament
- All-female DJ competition
- Cheer & dance competitions
- Professional skateboarding contest
- Beach volleyball and soccer tournaments
- A mentorship program for younger surfers
The event will run daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Sept. 22. As mentioned earlier, access to any of the activities, as well as to the event itself, are free to attend. More information can be found at the festival’s website.
