Here Are All the Broadway Shows Coming to San Diego This Year
A handful of Broadway shows, including several Tony Award-winning hits, have added stops in San Diego for the 2024–2025 season.
Broadway San Diego is preparing for the kickoff of its 47th season later this year, and the performing arts organization has added several Tony Award-winning plays and critically acclaimed musicals to the list, including:
- Kimberly Akimbo
- Back to the Future: The Musical
- Some Like it Hot
- Wicked
- A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical
- Moulin Rouge! The Musical
- Shucked
The musicals will be performed at the San Diego Civic Theatre, which is located near the Gaslamp District in downtown San Diego.
“Each year, we have the great privilege of presenting the best in national touring Broadway shows in San Diego and this year is no exception,” said Vanessa Ybarra Davis, VP of Broadway San Diego.
The season will start with Kimberly Akimbo in October before continuing through to August 2025. The first show is scheduled for Oct. 8, 2024.
“With much of our season currently playing on Broadway or new shows just beginning their national tours, the distance between Broadway and San Diego is now closer than ever,” Ybarra Davis said.
Although individual tickets are available, for the best opportunity to see these shows, you’ll want to look into season passes. Season ticket holders get a variety of benefits, including priority access and the ability to book better seats.
