Get Spooky While Surfing at Tourmaline Halloween Surf in PB
If you’re looking to combine a love for surfing with a love for Halloween, then the Tourmaline Halloween Surf event is a match made in heaven.
The annual surfing tradition takes place each year at Tourmaline Surf Park Beach, which is located in northern Pacific Beach — and just a short drive from La Jolla.
Come dressed in your favorite Halloween costume and head on down to the Tourmaline Halloween Surf event at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27. The event lasts through noon on Sunday, but is completely free to attend.
If you’re a surfer, you can paddle out while dressed up in spooky seasonal garb — and even receive a prize for the best party wave caught while in costume. There’s also a prize for the best costume generally, so come dressed to impress.
Even if you’re not a surfer, the festive and spooky atmosphere is a sight to behold. So, you can come on down and watch costumed surfers try their hand at catching the most scarily perfect wave.
After you’re done catching some spooky waves, check out our expert itinerary for a day in Bird Rock, since the small La Jolla neighborhood is just a couple of minutes away from Tourmaline Surf Park Beach.
