The Conrad La Jolla Gears Up For Free Fall Outdoor Concert Series

The La Jolla Music Society will soon offer a series of free outdoor concerts as part of its popular Wu Tsai QRT.yrd series at The Conrad in La Jolla.

The Wu Tsai QRT.yrd returns on Wednesday, Oct. 23 with a new series titled “World Strings.” The La Jolla Music Society (LJMS) has three dates scheduled for the fall, including two in November, at its downtown La Jolla venue.

“I’m very excited about the return of the Wu Tsai QRT.yrd Concerts after a very successful spring series,” said Allison Boles, director of learning and engagement at LJMS. “This series is special because it allows us to welcome new audiences to The Conrad with free programming and because it gives us the opportunity to shine a spotlight on some incredibly talented local artists.”

  • Wednesday, Oct. 23: Ali Paris, an internationally acclaimed musician, is renowned for his innovative artistry on the qanun, a traditional Persian instrument. His style blends classical and jazz with the rich heritage of Middle Eastern music.
  • Thursday, Nov. 7: Mariachi Águila, an ensemble featuring advanced students of the La Jolla Music Society’s after-shool program. This concert will feature special guests from Mariachi Juvenil.
  • Friday, Nov. 22: The Alex Ciavarelli Trio, a renowned local jazz trio from San Diego, will perform songs from their extensive repertoire, which ranges from the earliest jazz standards to the current cutting-edge of the genre.

Each outdoor concert takes place at the courtyard at The Conrad in La Jolla. They all start at 4:30 p.m. As mentioned, the concerts are completely free to attend.
