Catch These Thrilling Concerts at The Conrad in December
December is right around the corner, which means that The Conrad in La Jolla has a new slate of thrilling concerts to discover next month.
The Conrad in downtown La Jolla is the primary venue and concert hall for the La Jolla Music Society. Each month, the Society puts on a host of incredible concerts and related creative performances, and December is no different.
Here are some of the amazing concerts you can look forward to.
- Barbara Hannigan & Bertrand Chamayou: Conductor and soprano Barbara Hannigan will give a performance that embodies music with an “unparalleled dramatic sensibility.” She will be accompanied by Bertrand Chamayou on piano. Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
- Kings ReJOYCE!: Multi-award winning mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato with join up with the dynamic four-piece vocal group Kings Return and pianist Craig Terry for a special Christmas performance that blends both popular and sacred music. Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
- Spanish Harlem Orchestra — Salva Navidad: The Spanish Harlem Orchestra, a Grammy-winning music ensemble, will be preforming a host of classic Latino and Spanish music, as well as classic American Christmas songs in a Latin or Salsa style. Saturday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m.
- Connie Han Trio: Led by a 28-year-old piano composer and virtuoso, the Connie Han Trio will channel the legacy of jazz piano through Connie Han’s signature dynamic playing.
In addition to the concerts at The Conrad above, the La Jolla Music Society will also be hosting its annual free holiday open house on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 4 p.m. The event will feature a holiday market, live musical performances, story time for kids, and more.
