Summer Longboard Classic: Catch Waves + Community in PB

If you’re looking to test your surfing chops or you just want to see some great surfers catch some waves, the Summer Longboard Classic is returning to PB this Saturday.

Hosted by the Pacific Beach Surf Club, the 25th Annual Summer Longboard Classic is returning to Tourmaline Surf Park on Saturday, June 14. Beyond surfing, the event will be a full day packed with fun, music, food, raffles, and more.

For surfers eyeing friendly competition, the event will feature age groups for everyone from kids to grandparents. The most important rule is that the minimum board length is 9 feet or longer, or at least 3 feet above your head.

Additionally, the Bus Brothers DJs will spin vintage vinyl. Sponsors include Surf Lounge in Pacific Beach, Sun Bum sunscreen, Boxed Water, and Drone Dude ED. Because of these sponsors, plenty of brand-new surfboards and other swag will be raffled off during the event.

As always, there’s the possibility of beach sign-ups for some competitions during the Summer Longboard Classic, but the organizers note that it’ll be one a first-come, first-surf basis. The entry fee is $75 and $40 for youths.

The event is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Tourmaline Surf Park, 600 Tourmaline Street. For more information, visit this link.
