The Boardroom International Surfboard Show Hits Del Mar This Weekend
The Boardroom — an international surfboard show — will hit Del Mar this weekend, bringing together both legendary surfboard designers and innovative modern board shapers.
Despite the name, you won’t need to don any fancy business suits to enter the Boardroom here. Instead, wear your favorite flip-flops and comfortable clothing as you explore an event dedicated to the craft, culture, and innovation in surfboard shaping.
The Boardroom International Surfboard Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
During the event, you’ll be able to peruse the latest in surfboard design and manufacturing from a variety of exhibitors, including everyone from Hansen Surfboards to Dark Arts.
Additionally, the event will also include:
- Icons of Foam: A shaping contest pitting master surfboard shapers against one another as they compete live.
- Best in Show Built-off: A showcase of craftsmanship, innovative design, and surfboard making pushed to the limit
- Boardroom Talks: Insightful discussions with surf legends, iconic designers, and industry leaders.
- Book Signings & Autograph Sessions: A chance to meet and greet your favorite surf authors and icons.
- Vintage Surfboard Collector Club Meet-up: Get up close and personal and learn more about priceless pieces of surf history.
- Unique Surf Vehicles Exhibit: Explore custom vans, cars, and other rigs designed for the ultimate surf lifestyle.
There will also be free wetsuit repairs provided by Patagonia, live music on an outdoor stage, food and beer, surfboard and swag giveaways, and more.
Tickets to the Boardroom International Surfboard Show starts at $31 for a weekend pass or $21 for a single-day pass. Kids under 12 years of age are free.
