‘Taste What You Hear’ at the Mainly Mozart Wine Pairing Series

Music is sound made art. But, what if you could taste the emotional resonance behind a symphony? That’s the premise behind the Mainly Mozart Wine Pairing series.

This fall, Mainly Mozart is returning to San Diego with a new series of intimate, candlelit evenings of world-class chamber music paired exquisitely with some of the best wines you can find.

The new Mainly Mozart Wine Pairing Series invites guests to “taste what you hear.” Each concert will be performed by top musicians from North America’s leading orchestras and paired with expertly chosen wines hand-selected by guest sommeliers. Each pour will perfectly reflect the mood and character of the current piece.

This year, the series opens in mid-November with Kansas City Symphony concertmaster Jun Iwasaki and pianist Sean Chen performing works by Ravel, Amy Beach, and Faure. Following a sold-out debut last year, each program in the series will be performed twice.

In January 2026, musicians from the National Symphony Orchestra will bring a mix of both familiar and unfamiliar works. February will feature Boston Symphony Orchestra musicians, while April concludes the season with New York Philharmonic artists.

Each event will begin with a wine and appetizer reception before an intermission-free concert at the Fairbanks Ranch Country Club. Both artists and sommeliers will share insights between pieces.

Importantly, the atmosphere of the Mozart Wine Pairing Series will be both elegant and relaxed. There will be soft lighting, small tables, and the rare opportunity to sit just feet away from musicians who typically perform on the world’s biggest stages.

Tickets range from $125 to $425 per concert.
