L55 Tacos & More: Michelin-Recognized Tacos Landing at Westfield UTC

If you’ve ever wanted to eat deliciously chef-crafted tacos with a Michelin pedigree, an opportunity — L55 Tacos & More — will soon land near La Jolla at Westfield UTC.

L55 Tacos & More is a spinoff from Lola 55, a taqueria that received Michelin Bib Gourmand status back in 2019. According to Eater San Diego, the acclaimed taco spot will soon open a new Mexican restaurant at Westfield UTC.

There are currently Lola 55 outposts in San Diego’s East Village, near the Gaslamp Quarter, and Carlsbad. Now, the team behind the restaurant is making moves to open a more accessible — and scaleable — brand with L55 Tacos & More.

The new restaurant at Westfield UTC will feature both outdoor and indoor seating, as well as a 2,800-square-foot interior anchored by a bar serving up Mexican aguas frescas and low-alcohol cocktails.

On the menu, you’ll find a lot more than just tacos, as the new brand’s name suggests. There will be burritos, burrito bowls, salads, and a range of other delicious Mexican cuisine.

Lola 55 has always been known for its creative and delicious takes on tacos. For example, the menu features classic options like Baja-style fried fish tacos crafted with locally caught fish, as well as Al Pastor tacos made with achiote pork belly and mesquite-smoked pineapple. The restaurant also features amazing vegan and vegetarian options, like charred cauliflower tacos with eggplant bacon.

However, L55 Tacos & More will also feature some exclusive a “barbacoa bowl” made with lion’s made mushroom and a fish adobo taco.

According to Eater, the new restaurant should debut at Westfield UTC within the new couple of weeks.
