Optimism for Summer as California Re-Opens
The California sun is not the only bright aspect of the Sunshine State as summer inches closer.
The CA Department of Public Health recently tweeted that California is actively opening up and that mask mandates should only continue until June 15, 2021!
Currently, California is still in the Orange Tier in the state’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. The Blueprint for business guidelines remains the same, but on April 15, 2021, the state updated guidance for informal gatherings and private events.
The new guidelines state: When hosting informal gatherings and private events, no defined guest list, testing, or vaccination is required. However, indoors is still restricted to 25% occupancy, and outdoor events still get limited to a maximum of 50 people.
Yet, this new information concerning the mask mandate is a sign of actionable progress in the fight against COVID-19.
According to the California Department of Public Health’s website, the numbers of cases and fatalities continue to go down, while the number of vaccines administered is up to 35,414,233.
These statistics are promising for San Diego County and the rest of California, where residents are excited to get back to safely celebrating their summer and returning to their lives.
