San Diego Jazz Party Set for This Weekend at the Hilton Del Mar

The San Diego Jazz Party is returning to the San Diego Hilton Del Mar this weekend, bringing some of today’s top jazz artists together for a series of unforgettable performances.

Held annually at the San Diego Hilton Del Mar, this year’s San Diego Jazz Party will feature 20 of the top mainstream jazz performance artists from across the globe. Attendees will be able to enjoy live music performances in an informal jazz club environment at the Hilton in Del Mar, which is located just across from the racetrack.

Scheduled for Friday, Feb. 21 through Sunday, Feb. 23, jazz fans will be able to pick between the entire weekend of performances, or choose specific focused programs within the event.

Some of the musicians scheduled to play include saxophonist Harry Allen, recipient of the San Diego Jazz Party Legend award, as well as talented jazz artists including:

  • Peter Washington – Bass
  • Richard Simon – Bass
  • Nate Ketner – Reeds
  • Lizzy & The Triggermen – Vocals & Big Band
  • Ken Peplowski – Sax and Clarinet
  • Houston Person- Saxophone
  • Sam Rocha – Bass Guitar
  • Chuck Redd – Drums & Vibes

The San Diego Jazz Party is celebrating its 36th year in San Diego. It was founded in 1988 by Bill and Beverly Muchnic in downtown San Diego.

Tickets begin at $250 for the entire weekend, or $55 per special performance. For example, on Friday night, there will be an intimate Swingin’ Sinatra-style jazz event, while on Saturday, Lizzy & The Triggerman will play songs form the Great American Songbook during the Taste of Jazz Saturday Night.
