Sea & Sky: La Jolla’s Newest Penthouse Restaurant Opens
Sea & Sky, a new penthouse restaurant located on the top floor of an iconic La Jolla hotel, has officially opened to the public.
The restaurant is located on the top penthouse floor of Hotel La Jolla in La Jolla Shores. It features a newly designed space emphasizing the view, as well as a new curated menu that highlights fresh local seafood and locally harvested ingredients.
For breakfast, the restaurant will have unique twists on classics, such as an omelette with caramelized onions, Swiss cheese, chives, and optional lobster. There will also be baked eggs with chorizo and guajillo pepper sauce, served warm with tortillas.
On the lunch menu, you might find Tuna Smashburger Sliders or Shrimp Ravioli with Italian sausage, Calabrian chili tomato Sauce, and broccoli gremolata. And, for dinner, the chef serves up creative starters followed by main course options that highlight San Diego’s relationship to land and sea.
There is also weekend brunch, which is served on Saturdays and Sundays. It features the breakfast menu with expanded lunch options such as a Smoked Turkey Sandwich and a Brunch Burger with caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, and an egg.
On the interior, you’ll find ocean-blue tones and light wood accents that evoke local La Jolla beaches. Given the space’s pedigree as a music and jazz venue, one of the main plans going forward is to host weekly live music and jazz events.
Sea & Sky La Jolla is just part of a new renovation of the property that also included a refresh of guest rooms that completed in March, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. Additionally, the hotel will also revamp its entrance, courtyard, and pool lounge areas.
