Zen Modern Asian Bistro to Bring Elevated Chinese Cuisine to Del Mar
An established local Chinese restaurant, Zen Modern Asian Bistro, will soon open a second location near La Jolla in Del Mar.
The elevated Chinese restaurant has been serving up delicious modern and classic dishes at its first location in Carmel Mountain Ranch since 2016. Now, the second Zen Modern Asian Bistro is set to open at the Del Mar Highlands Town Center in Del Mar by the end of the year.
Some of the options planned for the menu include both Chinese and Taiwanese-inspired dishes, such as Peking duck, beef noodle soup, scallion pancakes, lobster with garlic, and made-to-order dim sum dumplings. Of course, you can also expect classics like wok-fried noodles and fried rice.
Additionally, Eater San Diego reports that the Del Mar location may feature Asian fusion dishes, such as lobster rolls with a distinctly Chinese inspiration.
Zen Modern Asian Bistro is the brainchild of father-son team, Henry and Ethan Yang. The latter of the two is actually not new to the shopping center, since he currently operates an “Asian Coastal” sushi bar called Glass Box.
At the Sky Deck at Del Mar Highlands Town Center location, there will be a sleek and modern design with plenty of seating and a 30-seat bar. The father-son team is also scouting around for a potential third Zen Modern Asian Bistro, possibly in North San Diego County.
