San Diego-based Wild Tide Launches Innovative Hard Ginger Beer — Here’s Where to Try It

San Diego-based beverage manufacturer Wild Tide is launching a new flavor-forward drink that bridges the gap between cocktail and beach day essential.

Wild Tide is a new take on ginger beer with an eye toward both craft and flavor. It’s made with real organic ginger juice, natural fruit juices, and a neutralized orange wine base. With a 5% ABV, the drinks are designed to offer a flavorful alternative to hard seltzers, canned cocktails, or beer.

Debut flavors include:

  • Orange Ginger Lime
  • Grapefruit Jalapeño
  • Pineapple Passionfruit

The brand focuses on lower sugar content and a more balanced drinking experience compared to other ready-to-drink beverages, according to CEO, founder, and local beverage entrepreneur Kelsey Chesterfield.

“I wanted something refreshing and bolder-tasting that felt closer to a special cocktail than to water,” Chesterfield said. “Beer often left me feeling bloated, hard seltzers lacked flavor, and many canned cocktails were too sweet. We created Wild Tide to offer a more refreshing, flavor-forward option.”

As of writing, Wild Tide is currently rolling out across San Diego with an eye toward local surf culture and outdoor gatherings. The brand is kicking off its launch with appearances at a range of local pop-ups and events.

The activations include the upcoming 20th annual Super Girl Surf Festival happening this weekend in Oceanside, where the brand will be on-site with a tasting tent, beach games, and full cans available.

A second-generation beverage entrepreneur, Chesterfield started Wild Tide after more than a decade in beverage marketing and growth. For more information and availability, visit the brand’s website.
